Today I finished the pruning on my six dwarf fruit trees; two pear, four apple. It was hard to decide and follow through with pruning them back as far as I did. Originally I was going to cut them all down and dig the roots out, but Anita persuaded me to try again this year. Every year, as soon as the fruit begins to set it seems they suddenly start being over run with diseases. I am not going to spend hundreds of dollars spraying these things every year. I am really hoping they do well this year, otherwise I may just take them all out. We shall see.
I added bone meal to my eight potato buckets. I am hoping they will do well. This is the first time I have tried to grow potatoes.
