In The Pursuit Of Healing, Health, And Wholeness: An Introduction

I am In The Pursuit Of Healing. For decades I have believed the WORD Of GOD about healing, but for some reason I have several physical problems that I cannot seem to overcome. It is not because the WORD Of GOD is not true, because that is not possible. It is also not because GOD no longer heals today, because that would be a direct violation of His WORD. So, what am I supposed to do about it? I can try to make up every religious excuse I can think of to let myself off the hook and blame GOD. I can just put up with it. Or, I can dig in to the WORD Of GOD and draw ever closer to Almighty GOD our Loving Father and His Holy Presence until I see the fullness of the healing our LORD Jesus Christ paid such a horrendous price for. After all, what did the Apostle John say by inspiration of Holy Spirit?

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

But Brother Jim, John was speaking specifically to Gaius. Yes, he was. May I ask you something? Does not the WORD Of GOD also say:

Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Our Father in Heaven Loves everyone completely, and it is His great desire that not only Gaius, but that everyone of us would prosper and be in health, even as each of our souls prosper.

The word translated “be in health” is “hugiainō“, and means “to have sound health, that is, be well (in body); figuratively to be uncorrupt (true in doctrine): – be in health, (be safe and) sound, (be) whole (-some).”

Would someone protest that healing is not for today? That claim would be against the WORD Of GOD. That claim is actually an accusation against GOD Himself. You see, as written in Acts GOD is no respecter of persons. GOD does not favor the people of the first two centuries A.D. any more or less than He favors people today. All the promises of GOD are “yes” and “amen” in Christ Jesus unto the glory of GOD. There is no qualifier as to the promises of GOD being only available to the people of the early church, or to the Hebrews of the Old Testament. When Holy Spirit, by the instrument of the Apostle Paul, wrote “all the promises of GOD” He meant “all the promises” of GOD, regardless of when those promises were given.

Our LORD Jesus Christ IS The WORD Of GOD made flesh (John 1:1-14), and He does not change.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

When our Father GOD gave us His Son, our LORD Jesus Christ because of His great LOVE for us, He was giving us His WORD. The WORD of our Father GOD is the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

In our Father GOD there is no variableness (1. Susceptibility of change; liableness or aptness to alter; changeableness; as the variableness of the weather. 2. Inconstancy; fickleness; unsteadiness; levity; as the variableness of human passions. [Webster’s 1828]) neither is there any shadow of turning.

To understand “shadow of turning” this illustration may be of benefit. If an actor were to stand on a stage and a lighting person were to place one spotlight on that person with all other lights in the theatre turned off we would see the shadow cast behind them. The shadow would be much larger than the person, and would move with every move of the actor. Even the very slightest of movements would be magnified by the shadow. Father GOD is so unchangeable, so invariable, so consistent, that even a shadow (if one could be cast) of a spotlight on Him would not be able to show even the beginning or the desire to begin a turn from His WORD and His Promises of LOVE to all people.

Finally, I believe the Life of our LORD Jesus Christ as He lived on this earth is perfect theology. Our LORD Jesus Christ said He could do nothing of His own, but everything He did was from His Father in Heaven, that He only did what He saw His Father do, and that He only said what He heard His Father say. LORD Jesus healed absolutely everyone that came to Him, without exception. LORD Jesus also healed everyone He was sent to by His Father, without exception. LORD Jesus never once left anyone not healed. LORD Jesus came to show us what the Kingdom of GOD was like, and told those who would believe in Him that the Kingdom of GOD is within us. LORD Jesus showed us how the Kingdom of GOD operates, and commanded us to do the same, and greater. With the LORD Jesus as the perfect example of how we should live and operate as vessels of the Kingdom of GOD, we should never accept anything less as acceptable in our own lives. If our experience falls short of LORD Jesus’ example, then we need not look for a reason to place blame, or try to figure out who is at fault, or why; what we need to do is to fill ourselves with more of His Holy WORD, develop our faith by hearing the WORD of GOD, meditating upon His Holy WORD, tearing down every thought and idea that enters our mind that would exalt itself against the knowledge of GOD, praying in the Spirit to develop our most holy faith, and draw ever closer to our Father in Heaven so that His Glory, Life, and Love can more purely and freely flow through our lives. In this way our souls will prosper, and in like proportion, we will not just see healing happening in our lives, but we will “be in health”, we will come to exist in perfect Kingdom Health just as our LORD Jesus Christ did.

This study that is The Pursuit Of Healing is my study and journey to get from where I presently am to where LORD Jesus’ Perfect Example shows me I should be. I pray that this will aid those who read it in the same way.

Be blessed.
